That is an improper crimp. To effectively crimp wire, you are going to need more robust crimpers and crimp the opposite way shown here in this video, crimp from turn to turn ( U to U if you will). The method portrayed may work, but it will not hold up under much force…then again if you are having a lot of force with on your gopro when it has fallen, you might be having bigger worries than your camera tether.

Nevermind, somehow it displayed another YouTube video. Now that I searched for it again through diygopro.com instead of Google, it shows the correct video
