    that will definitely mess up the rubber sealing eventually and leak even if you dont have the wire on

      Thats’s a really good point, but this might be good for a quick fix. It would probably be better to invest in another case and modify it.

      use the non-waterproof case and slide it through the back.
      not waterproof, but still works the same.

    Im going to do this, but use the extended battery back plate and super glue the cable through a hole cut in the back with enough slack to reach the camera with the door closed. Thus keeping water tight connection.
