those silver ones are too expensive to ship to my country
Yep! That’ll work.
Let me know how it turns out with that type of drawer slider
Hi, I am having a little trouble trying to find a suitable slider as us stupid brit’s don’t know what inch’s are anymore.
I have found these, would the 350mm-568mm work?

Easy to make two of these when buying parts, since the rails come in a dual pack. Going to build mind this week(end) and have some fun!
Open whatever slider you buy and double check smoothness. The Home Depot sliders SUCK. Also, the sliders are 20 a pop now…not 10. They are not a dual pack like I thought.
Great video and thank you for sharing. I have one question do you think the Camera Slider will work with a Canon 60D
Cheers.

The machine screws I bought were flat heads however the underside was beveled. So I ended up using a 5/8″ drill bit for my holes. Doing this allowed for my screws to sit lower so that I did not have to hammer them down for clearance. I do not believe this setup will work with a DSLR, it’s just not sturdy enough. I have a little heavier ball head and notice that with that on there once it hangs over it has some flex. This results in when you slide back the screw heads start to hit. I think more weight will make this even worse or bend the frame. This is great for Gopro and mirror less cameras (I used the Nikon j1 with no problems) for more lens options. I am going to look into something a little more bulkier for my DSLR, but this great for the small cameras. Easier to carry on the trails or in the backpack with the Gopro.
Nice video ! Do you have any link for the ball joint ? Can’t find the same you have !
I got my slider at Lowe’s and it is a little jumpy, they were $17 for 2 and I ruined the first one! So the second one is the one I am using.
Now here is my $.02,…Instead of a 1/4 inch drill bit, I used a 5/8 drill bit with the same flathead bolts. This way the bolts sat deeper in the hole but did not go through. had no issue with it sticking.
What is the best length for the slider? I found a 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24 inch on eBay.
Would this work for a 6 pound Panasonic camcorder? It appears that many of the other styles that use pvc or other pipe wouldn’t support the weight.
I’ve used a thin slider and it doesn’t worked well because it becomes shaky.
You can see this happening in this video. http://youtu.be/eSZBgxcTUj4
Hello, this is also applicable railway track?

I’m building 2 of these with my cousin who is all about his GoPro. I’m not really clear about quick release plates. I have access to Manfrotto tripods and my cousin has a DYNEX DX-TRP60. Can you recommend suitable quick release plates that I can grab on Amazon? – Thanks
