Just got my GoPro. Great post and idea – I will make one of these – thanks for sharing the steady-cam
Hi i am thinking of building a type of steadicam for mounting on the front of a dogsled. Any tips how to get it vibration free?
Very nice niche site — great inspiration for an entrepreneurial newbie like me.
Very cool diy rig. Bravo! I like.
I plan to build a similar rig, but I plan to use a ball joint – basically one of those rod end fittings – to replace the skate bearing / universal with a single part. The ball joint gives both rotational and solid angle freedom of motion, although not as much solid angle freedom, but all in one part.
If you’re interested, give me a shout.
A similar part can be found on Amazon – search for “Female RH Rod End.” I bought one with 3/8 x 24 threads from a local hardware store for $10 – about 3 times the list price on Amazon.
Best regards,
Doug
